The Great Encounter
And then I met the Christ
He looked into my eyes
And all the barriers by his gaze were pierced
He reached the depths of me
And from my center I
Was suddenly awakened to life’s depths
And heights and majesty
A sense of reverence
And joyous wonder flooded over me
I felt the dignity
And beauty of life
And then I felt reborn
A new and kindly love
Brought with it faith that carried ultimate
Conviction – with a sense
Of great authority
That came, not from possessing wealth or power
But from discovering
(With deep humility)
The wonder, balance, purpose at work in life.
