Dear Prime Minister:

Subject: SOS! Uphold Justice to Stop Killing of Falun Gong in China

My name is Ying Zhu, a Falun Gong practitioner in Montreal. Today Mr. Haocheng Zhang and I are very glad to arrive in Ottawa after seven days of “SOS walk to Ottawa from Montreal”. During the walk, we used our feet and hearts to appeal for the Falun Gong practitioners who are under severe persecution in China. I myself have experienced some of the persecutions when I visited my parents in China a few weeks ago. I was freed because of the help of all kind-hearted Canadian people and the Canadian Government. Now I am free. However, thousands of Falun Gong practitioners are still suffering persecutions much more severe than I had. People are tortured to death almost every day.

On June 10, Chinese President Jiang Zemin’s regime issued orders to kill practitioners but claim that they committed suicide, and not to check their identity but cremate immediately. Consequently, it causes a prompt increasing of the number of death.  Now at least 256 people have been persecuted to death, and half of them were killed in June.  Moreover, a group killing of Falun Gong practitioners often took place in some area. On June 20, 15 women died under 24 hours police custody in Wanjia Labor Camp of Heilong Jiang Province, and only one of the families had been allowed to see the body of the victim before cremation reported visible signs of torture.  Most recently, another 10 male practitioners in Changlinzi Labor Camp within the same province of Heilong Jiang died in one day. ….  There are countless practitioners are encountering the same dangerous.  The mass killing must be stopped! It must be stopped!

I remember when I was in detention, a so-called psychologist who came to brainwash me said that people who did not give up Falun Gong practice would be sent to mental hospitals. He also said that it is not impossible to make fake cases to kill people. He even gave an example.

The long-way walking is a hard test for us.  However, thinking of so many innocent people facing the brutal genocide, we could not let ourselves slow down the pace.  Along the way, there were many kind-hearted people supporting us.  When they saw our sign and listened to our story, they said to us “what you did is right” and “Bravo”. Once, a lady stopped her car and said she wanted to donate some money and offer us a ride. We expressed our appreciation and explained the mission of our SOS walk and why we did not accept any donation and ride, but her moral support would be very important to us. Then she was very pleased to sign the petition. Another lady let us stay at her home one night when she knew we couldn’t find a hotel.

Today, we are here – the capital of Canada to appeal to the Canadian Government to uphold the justice and take immediate action to urge the Chinese authority to stop killing Falun Gong practitioners.  Let the practitioners regain the right of practicing “Truth Compassion Forbearance”. I am sure that the international justice voice is very strong and powerful to make difference. We are looking forward to hearing from you soon.
