"La Settimana Italiana" - Italian Week in Montreal, was launched with a cocktail at the Galleria of the Leonardo da Vinci Cultural Centre on Tuesday August 12th. We were treated to a wonderful art exhibition from Padova, Italy, by artists Bruno Gorlato and Albino Palma, followed by a concert by world class violinist Giovanni Angelieri, also from Padova. Italian Week in Montreal celebrates its 10th Anniversary in 2003, a wonderful event that makes everybody feels Italian for a week. All over the city, people are treated to various Italian flavors: food, cafés, music, art, fashion, jewelry, and all that is Italian. One of the highlights is "Moda Sotto Le Stelle" - Fashion Under The Stars - a showcase of Canadian Italian designers and their creations, followed by live music at the Old Port of Montreal. In 2003, world class Violinist Giovanni Angelieri, winner of the International Paganini Competition in Genova, Italy is among the artists performing before and following the fashion show, on Saturday August 16 and Sunday August 17, 2003, starting at 7:PM.
